Valenzuela/New-Secretary-of-DOHS.jpg

On Monday, January 12, 2009, Dr. Ed Valenzuela exchanged farewells with former Governor Janet Napolitano, right before her address of a joint Arizona Legislative Session, in preparation for her confirmation hearing scheduled in Washington, D.C.  As President Obama's new Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, she assumes broad responsibility over the third largest U.S. Cabinet Department.  Dr. Ed Valenzuela's role as a Senior Policy Advisor to the National Association of Hispanic Federal Executives and founder of National IMAGE; a National Hispanic Government Employees Organization, his interest in the Obama call for change is welcomed.  Their white paper on a "Call for Action" to the Obama Transition Committee awaits positive results.
