Angel Carbajal is the Assistant Chief of Police assigned to the
Tempe PD's Patrol Operations Division. Assistant Chief Carbajal has 18 years of law enforcement experience.
He holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice, a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from
ASU's W.P. Carey College of Business, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. He is also
an alumnus of the City of Tempe's "Tempe Leadership Program," a Tempe Community Council Board member, and Tempe
Impact Education Board member. His law enforcement experience includes being on staff at the Arizona Law Enforcement
Academy, holding supervisory and command positions in patrol operations, supervising the department's recruiting and
hiring unit, and servicing as one of the department's SWAT Commanders for seven years. He also has extensive training
on issues related to terrorism, homeland security, and first responder operations related to Weapons of Mass Destruction.
