Our Mission
NLPOA was founded in 1972, by Vicente Calderon
and John Parraz. The NLPOA was chartered on August 14, 1974. The purpose of the organization is to eliminate prejudice
and discrimination in the criminal justice system (particularly law enforcement), to create a fraternal/professional association
that provides support, advocacy, personal, and professional development to its members; to prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency;
and to lessen neighborhood tension in predominantly Latino communities through awareness and role modeling.
- The NLPOA is committed to awarding scholarships to high school students interested in pursuing
a higher education, and we are proud to say we have awarded over one-hundred scholarships to underprivileged students as an
alternative to gangs and drugs.
- Thanks to our sponsors, supporters, and our membership for their
continued support which allows us to provide assistance to youth, and the community.
- Our
mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference
by educating the public and expanding our reach.
- Contact us to volunteer and give back to the
community. Working together, we can make a difference!
